It’s International Family Day

                          അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര കുടുംബദിനം

              

The International Day of Families on May 15, is an occasion to celebrate the importance of families, people, societies and cultures around the world. Today, families are considered as essential units of society and this special day is aimed to promote national and international awareness of issues relating to families. The day was established in 1993 by the UN General Assembly.The symbol of this day consists of a solid green circle with an image of a house and heart.

The programmes undertaken look at strengthening public efforts for supporting families who are confronted with various economic, social and cultural issues.
